What if you could sit down with your younger self, the one hustling through your professional life, and share what you know now?
Looking back, I’m sure people tried to tell me things that would have made my journey so much easier—on myself and those around me. But I wasn’t ready to listen, not because I was stubborn, but because some truths can only land when you’re ready to receive them.
If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self to slow down. To stop looking “out there” for answers and validation, and instead, start looking inward.
In my corporate years, I was always chasing the next milestone, the next title, the next sign that I was enough. What I didn’t realize then was that peace and success don’t come from moving faster. They come from being more present with where you already are.
When I became a coach, I used to say, ‘I wish I’d had me twenty-five years earlier.‘ Coaching isn’t about someone else having the answers for you—it’s about having someone walk alongside you as you discover your own. True change isn’t about knowing more, it’s about being different.
I remember being offered a leadership coach and turning it down, not because I was stubborn (well, maybe a little) or that I didn’t value coaching. At the time, I saw it as a weakness—proof that my boss didn’t think I was good enough. Or worse, that the coach was there to spy on me and report back. I couldn’t see the gift being offered because I was too busy defending against threats that didn’t exist. I was operating from fear, not wisdom.
If I could go back, I’d tell her: You don’t have to guard yourself so tightly. You don’t have to earn your worth over and over again. Real power isn’t in proving yourself—it’s in knowing yourself. That’s where peace lives.
So I’ll ask you: What would your future self want to tell you right now?
Not in five years. Not after the next promotion or achievement. Today.
Because here’s what I’ve learned (often the hard way): the peace you’re chasing isn’t waiting for you at some future destination. It’s available right now, in this moment, if you’re willing to stop running long enough to feel it.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be “fixed.” You just need to be willing to look inward with the same intensity you’ve been looking outward.
That’s the work. That’s the transformation. And that’s what I help my clients discover.
